It would be helpful if an enquiry could contain as much of the following information as possible. However, the proposed date and venue are the most important; the rest can follow later.
• date of your proposed event, with alternatives (if appropriate) in case we are already booked on the first date suggested
• venue (and in some cases directions for getting there)
• type of event (e.g. church fund-raising, 18th birthday, wedding, works social event, etc)
• provisional start and finish times if known
• an indication of numbers likely to attend
• any special requests you might have, e.g. for a 50/50 night with disco-type dancing (we might be able to recommend a DJ for after the ceilidh) or for a semi-Scottish evening (which we might do), or for children’s dances (which we can certainly do)
• although the band does not require a particularly large space in which to set up, we do need convenient access to a reliable electricity supply and would appreciate a chair each (without arms)
• we normally require parking space for three cars, and easy access to the venue for bringing in heavy equipment
